Privacy Policy

What we collect when you contact us, why, and the rights you have over it.

Introduction

This policy explains how Dublin Roofing Company handles personal data: information about a living person that is not already public. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the ePrivacy Regulations 2011 give you rights over that information, and this page sets out how we meet them when you use this website or contact us.

Who we are

Dublin Roofing Company is a roofing business with its office at 6 Fern Road, Sandyford, Dublin, D18 FP98. For anything to do with your data, email info@dublinroofingcompany.ie or call 01 263 5253.

Personal data

When you send an enquiry through a form on this website we receive what you type in: your name, phone number, email address, Eircode, the service you are asking about and any message you add. We use it to reply, arrange a visit and prepare your quote, and if you go ahead, to carry out and invoice the work. We do not use it for marketing, and we never sell it.

The forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a bot, is sending them. Your enquiry reaches us by email through our website provider, Digital Five, which also keeps a secure backup copy so that an enquiry is never lost.

Who we share your personal information with

Only the providers that run this website and deliver your enquiry to us (Digital Five, Cloudflare and the email service they use), and anyone we must share it with by law. If a job needs another trade, we will ask you before passing on your details.

If you message us on WhatsApp, your number, name and messages are handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy, and we use them only to reply to you about your roof.

Cookies

The cookie banner itself stores your choice in two cookies: d5cmp_consent (your preferences, kept for 12 months) and d5cmp_uid (an anonymous identifier for your consent record, kept for 24 months). They identify no one.

Beyond that, the website itself needs no cookies to work. Some features come from other companies: our customer reviews are shown using Trustindex. To display them, your browser fetches the reviews from Trustindex's servers, which receive your IP address; reviewer photos may load from the review platform (for example Google). Trustindex sets no cookies. The maps on our contact and area pages are provided by Google Maps: Google receives your IP address to show the map and may set its own cookies, so the cookie banner lists it as necessary for the site to work. You can change your cookie choice at any time from the banner.

Analytic Tools

If you agree to analytics cookies in the cookie banner, we use two tools to see how the website is used, so we can improve it. Google Analytics counts visits and the pages you view and sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies, kept for up to 13 months. Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement) so we can see where the site is hard to use, and sets the _clck (1 year) and _clsk (1 day) cookies; Microsoft may also set its own identifiers on its domains. Both are loaded through Google Tag Manager. You can refuse them, or change your choice at any time, from the cookie banner.

Legal basis for processing any personal data

We process enquiry details because you ask us to: replying to you and quoting for work you have asked about is a step you have requested before entering a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Once work is booked, we keep the records the law requires for tax and accounting (Article 6(1)(c)).

Consent

Where we rely on your consent, such as for optional cookies, you can withdraw it at any time, and doing so does not affect anything we did with it before.

Disclosure

We will only disclose your information where the law requires it, for example to Revenue or in response to a court order.

Retention policy

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted once we no longer need them to answer you. Where we carry out work, we keep the job records for as long as tax law requires. You can ask us to delete your enquiry sooner.

Data storage

Your enquiry is held by our website provider and in our business email account, both protected by access controls.

Data transfers

Some of the providers above may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on safeguards the GDPR recognises, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights as a data subject

  • to be told how your data is used, which is this policy
  • to see a copy of the data we hold about you
  • to have it corrected if it is wrong
  • to have it deleted, where we have no legal need to keep it
  • to restrict or object to how we use it
  • to receive it in a portable format

You can request the following information:

  • what personal data we hold about you and where it came from
  • why we hold it and how long we will keep it
  • who it has been shared with

Email info@dublinroofingcompany.ie and we will reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, at www.dataprotection.ie.
