GRP Fibreglass Flat Roofing

GRP fibreglass is glass-fibre matting laid into polyester resin over a new timber deck, then sealed with a coloured topcoat. It sets hard, so it suits roofs that get walked on, such as balconies and small terraces, and the cured surface has no laps for water to find.

EDPM Rubber Flat Roofing

EPDM is a synthetic rubber sheet, usually laid in one piece on a house extension, so the main area of the roof has no joints at all. It is bonded down cold with adhesive, with no flame on the roof, and it stays flexible through frost and summer heat.

Felt Flat Roofing

Modern felt is nothing like the thin sheet you see on garden sheds. We lay a reinforced bitumen system in several layers, finished with a mineral cap sheet that shields the roof from sunlight.

FAQs

Flat Roof FAQs

Answers to the flat roof questions we hear most.

Which flat roof covering is best for my roof?

It depends on the size of the roof, how it is used and the state of the deck. We fit felt, EPDM rubber, PVC membrane and GRP fibreglass, and recommend one after looking at the roof.

Can my flat roof be repaired, or does it need replacing?

Splits, blisters and lifted edges can often be repaired. If the deck underneath is soft or water has been getting in for a long time, a new covering is better value, and we will tell you which applies.

Why does water sit on my flat roof after rain?

Standing water usually means the roof has sagged or was laid without enough fall to the outlet. It shortens the life of most coverings, so we check the fall when we survey the roof.

Do you work on garage and extension roofs?

Yes. Garages, extensions, dormers and balconies are all covered, with a free written quote before any work is booked.

Why Choose Us

Why Choose Us for Your Flat Roof Repairs?

Flat roofs fail at the edges, upstands and outlets far more often than in the middle, so that is where our roofers look first.

Professional Flat Roof Repairs

Most flat roof leaks start small: a split where the felt turns up against a wall, a lifted edge trim, a blocked outlet that lets water sit, or a blister that has cracked open. We trace the leak back to its source rather than sealing the spot where it shows on your ceiling, then repair it with materials that suit the existing covering.

  • Leak tracing and patch repairs
  • Ponding and drainage problems
  • Upstands, flashings and edge trims
  • Rotten deck boards replaced
  • Full strip and re-cover
